Kodak Alaris launches Mail-in Ballot Processing Solution to improve the speed and efficiency of ballot envelope verification

ROCHESTER, N.Y.,  July 27, 2022

 

Kodak Alaris has introduced a new scanning solution to automate the processing of mail-in ballot envelopes for elections in the United States. The Mail-in Ballot Processing Solution will help county election offices to successfully process ballot envelopes and verify voter signatures.

When ballots are received by mail, a Kodak i4000 Series Scanner is used to

scan both sides of each ballot envelope.

Envelopes are stamped with the scan date,

time, and batch number. The voter’s signature is captured off the envelope

and compared against the signature database to generate a comparison score. This score will trigger an automatic signature validation, or flag it for further verification. Validated signature and ballot information is then delivered to the county’s Election Management Software...

Ricoh Company, Ltd. announces acquisition of PFU Limited from Fujitsu and business alliance with Cybozu

Ricoh Europe, 11 May, 2022 - Ricoh Company, Ltd. recently announced that it will acquire a majority share of PFU Limited (a consolidated subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited), a leading global document scanning business.    

Ricoh Company, Ltd. also announced a business alliance with Cybozu, Inc., a software company headquartered in Japan.

 

Both announcements are a part of Ricoh’s global growth investment strategy (outlined in FY21-25 Ricoh Lift-Off) supporting the company to expand its digital services portfolio for the benefit of customers across the globe, regardless of the size of their business.

of PFU Limited, Ricoh is investing in the initial stage of the digitisation process – a process which often starts with physical documents being scanned into a subsequent automated workflow, as well as IT management service functions in Japan and the industrial computer business.

 

The planned purchase date of the acquisition is 1 July 2022.

 

Nicola Downing, Ricoh Europe CEO, said: “Our investment in this key area of the document management market strengthens our ability to provide our customers with end-to-end support and expertise to optimise their workflows and process automation.”

Kodak Alaris Launches New Kodak i5250 and i5850 Scanners to Help Organizations Meet FADGI Requirements

ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 10, 2022

 

Kodak Alaris has announced a new line of Kodak i5250 and Kodak i5850 Scanners to help organizations meet the image quality standards required to be compliant with the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI). All text-based records submitted to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for permanent archival must be FADGI 3-star compliant by Jan. 1, 2023.

To be FADGI 3-star compliant, a device must produce high quality images that enable researchers to note details like paper condition and weave, age, ink type, and more. The images are 300 ppi and well-suited for OCR and reprint on commercial printers.
